A 23-year-old Ramkhamhaeng waiter was found dead of an apparent suicide this weekend.
According to investigators, Nattakan Siriwasonkhun died of smoke inhalation. Police found a letter he wrote before his death describing a breakup he had gone through and how he would kill himself step by step.
Nattakan reportedly lighted charcoal on a mookata, a Thai-style smoker, and duct-taped the room door and windows to prevent external air circulation. CCTV footage showed that Nattakan returned to his Bang Na district apartment alone at 2am.
Nattakan’s body was discovered after residents at the apartment smelled acute odor and saw Nattakan’s blood flowing from his room. Nattakan’s body will be sent to Chulalongkorn University for a post-mortem examination, the Dailynews reports.
