WTF is a chill bar for drink and a cool gallery to see something new. It’s a soi to hang out dodging cars while being in the Thonglor area without being Thonglor. It’s been all this and more for five years, and for surviving that long, it will throw itself a big two-day birthday party later this month.
If you’ve ever enjoyed a night there consider stopping by to send your regards. After all the two-day party will be packed with special programs and a lineup that would take a few pages to do justice.
The celebration starts Friday with the “Wonderful Thai Friendship II exhibition by 14 non-artists” ranging from a glam rock star and a satirist to reporters and curators, all chosen to do something out of their comfort zone.
The night will then steer toward the tawdry depths with DJ Jojo Trasher, seek inspiration via a mural by Wit Pimkanchanapong, then take to the skies with the launch of floating sculpture by Pongsuang “Note-Dude” Kunprasop.
Saturday is a full-fledged block party, with loads of food, drinks and music to reload your fun and keep you WTF-ing through the night. Meanwhile a few steps away at Studio Lam, short films by undiscovered local talents curated by Top Changtrakul and Chulayarnnon Siriphol will be screening.
