Grab-and-go durian bandits caught on CCTV (VIDEO)

CCTV caught the magic moment last night when a man snatched two durians from a shop in Hua Hin — only to sadly drop one of the smelly treasures as he sprinted back to his waiting accomplice’s motorbike, jumped on, and sped off into the night.

The durian vendor, Ekkaphol Kertlamjial, 39, shared the CCTV footage with the internet, then made a video response to the durian theft. The best part of the video has to be when Ekkaphol chides the fruit-loving villains for stealing durian that wasn’t even ripe.

“Return the durian within an hour or I’ll call the police. The one you stole isn’t even ripe. If you really crave durian, I’ll serve you a good one,” he said in his tasty video response.

Eakkaphol didn’t immediately reply to Coconuts’ request for comment.

Obviously, the thieves didn’t return, as Ekkaphol proceeded to file a police report, according to Thairath. He said that the stolen durian was a six-kilo premium Mon Thong that costs about THB1,000 (US$30.)

This is the second durian theft reported this week. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on any other durian-related incidents.
