The Transport Minister opposes airport officials plan to relocate Suvarnabhumi airport’s taxi parking area, currently inside the airport, to a vacant Highway Department plot south of the facility. The Minister believes moving the lot will make it more difficult for airport officials to regulate taxi services.
The Minister said that airport officials will need to regulate taxi services, absorb management costs, and the rate of the new parking facility.
Airport officials will meet on August 28 to reconsider the plan, the Bangkok Post reported.
