Got big party plans? Long weekend comes with booze ban

For those looking forward to going hard on the upcoming long weekend meant to observe the Buddhist holiday, note that the sale of alcohol will be banned on Saturday and Sunday.

The booze ban will be enforced from 12:01am on Saturday to Sunday at midnight. So if you’re out on Friday, last call will probably come earlier than usual.

Saturday marks Asanha Bucha Day while Sunday is Buddhist Lent Day. Therefore, Monday will be a public holiday in Thailand as a day of observance. The sale of alcohol, however, will be allowed on Monday.
