A fast-moving fire consumed dozens of electric golf carts parked in a garage at a military academy northeast of Bangkok.

More than 100 carts caught fire at the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy in Nakhon Nayok province after flames, driven by strong winds, set fire to a large parking garage.

Fire fighters were able to carefully remove each battery from the torched vehicles for fear they could explode.

The parking garage partially collapsed. The fire was put out before it could spread further up a nearby mountain.

Investigators believed the fire was caused by a short circuit but were investigating further.
