Those people who still write with pens, chat with their mouths and make calls using landlines are in for some bad news.
Starting in July, all landline calls will switch to a per-minute charge of THB0.45 per minute from the current THB3 flat fee per call, under new telecom regulations drafted by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission.
One year later that fee will drop to THB0.34 per minute in July 2015.
Commission Secretary General Thakorn Thantasit said the change was necessary to offset higher operations costs by providers. The new rules await adoption by June, Khaosod reported.
