For those watching the rising interest in Bangkok bicycling safely from the sidewalk, city officials want to help get you pedaling.
In a city where walking the sidewalk can demand dexterity, cycling its roadways can appear particularly perilous. Yet two years after launching the Pun Pun bike rental system, the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority is now offering lessons to help get residents into the flow of traffic, according to BK online.
The bicycle advocates of We Ride for Fun will teach road safety, traffic rules and basic bicycle maintenance every month at the authority’s office near the Giant Swing in the the Phra Nakhon district.
The next session will be May 16. The sessions are free to the public.
