Prepare for even worse traffic next week, Bangkok.
The APEC 2022 summit will descend on downtown Bangkok from Nov. 16 through Nov. 19 and roads will be closed by authorities throughout the proceedings.
Most road closures will be confined to the hours between 6pm and 6am, and six shuttles will provide transport for those in the affected areas from Wednesday to Saturday.
The 24-hour road closures affect Ratchadapisek Road from Asoke Montri to Rama IV intersection and Duang Phithak Road.
Ploenchit from the expressway to Ratchaprasong, Wireless Road from Ploenchit to Sarasin, Ratchadamri from Ratchaprasong to Ratchadamri, Soi Tonson, and Soi Ruamrudee will all be closed to traffic from 6pm to 6am.
In addition to the roads, the Benjakitti Park entrance on Ratchadapisek Road will be closed from Nov. 12 through Nov. 19, and Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre MRT station will be closed from Nov. 16 until Nov. 19.
The Asoke intersection to Ratchada-Khlong Toey intersection will be closed from Nov. 14 until Nov. 19.
City dwellers and tourists are also reminded not to fly drones in Bangkok from Nov. 16 through Nov. 21.
