Violence, sex and death. Like the lady said, these are a few of our favorite things – at least to talk about.
Two artists couldn’t agree more and have come together to express their present feelings of anxiety and fear about the state of Thailand and the world at large.
Machine guns, tanks, skulls and other abstracted forms of violence feature prominently in the acrylic and ink work of Peerawayt Krasaesom at Sawatdee Anxiety. Artist Suwit Maprajaub explores themes of sex, death and greed in colorful, sculptural works.
The exhibition is currently showing at Whitespace Gallery through mid-August.
