The body of a German woman found hanged last week from a tree on Koh Phi Phi was moved to a hospital in Krabi on Monday, The Phuket News writes:
26-year-old tourist Katharina Rebacz was found hanged by a nylon rope at Ao Por Beach on Phi Phi Island on Friday. Police found a note written in German tucked under her shirt inside her bra.
Police are investigating the death and have asked the native German speakers to help with translating the note as it may reveal some clue.
Doctors at Phi Phi Hospital told police that Rebacz had been dead for six to 10 hours before her body was found.
“We have asked doctors to confirm the cause of death and to report anything suspicious,” said Krabi investigator Seksan Boonlerd.
“We have yet to rule this case as suicide or rule out any foul play,” he added. “We are carrying out a full investigation into this case.”
Rebacz’s family have been notified of her death.
