A German man is lucky to be alive after falling off a boat and into the Gulf of Thailand. Miraculously the man, who has only been identified as Saschi, mananged to keep himself afloat for nine hours by treading water.
Early that morning Saschi, who operates a Koh Tao tourism business, was smoking a cigarette on the ferry’s deck when he lost his balance and fell into the sea near Chumphon.
While it’s unclear whether he was rescued by a fishing boat or police patrol, one thing is certain – the 47-year old was exhausted when he was found between Koh Mattra and Khao Kalok at 10am, the Bangkok Post reported.
