German man to be charged after claiming he had bomb on Nok Air flight today

A German man on a flight scheduled to fly to Bangkok from Loei province this morning was deplaned and taken to Loei police station to be charged by Nok Air after allegedly claiming he had a bomb in his carry-on luggage.

The captain of Nok Air’s 10:30am flight had all 83 passengers leave the plane and all baggage removed from the cargo hold to be searched, reported Thai PBS.

No suspicious items were found and the plane departed without the German man just one hour later than scheduled.

After thorough checking of all the baggage and hand-carried bags which were cleared of any explosives, the plane managed to leave one hour afterward.

The unnamed German man, 49, told police he was stressed because he had to wait two hours for his flight. He allegedly claimed his comment about the bomb in his bag was a joke to the flight attendant when she asked if anything was wrong. She informed the captain of what he said, according to Bangkok Post.
