An alleged gang leader from Germany escaped Interpol officers at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport earlier this month while waiting for a connecting flight to Germany.
The Airports of Thailand (AoT) and the Immigration Police will convene this Monday to investigate the events of May 15, which is when the suspect escaped. The suspect was arrested and charged in Australia but somehow managed to escape while on the trip back to Germany.
Police have undertaken a manhunt for the suspect, but so far this has proven unfruitful.
According to deputy commander of the Immigration Bureau Pol Maj Gen Preecha Thimamontree, the suspect was able to escape in the transit area, which is outside the bureau’s jurisdiction, the Bangkok Post reported.
