The Department of Special Investigations (DSI) is having an unusually active week.
In addition to seizing a fresh handful of illegally imported cars, the law enforcement body has frozen THB10 million in assets, which they believe represent the holdings of a half-dozen gambling websites.
These funds came from the accounts of 20 people who the DSI had identified as bookies. The DSI claims that these bookies were running online casinos and betting pools for professional football.
The Nation reports that the bookies regularly closed old accounts and opened new ones, making them more difficult to track.
