A Frenchman was detained by police for allegedly peeping on a Frenchwoman while she was taking a shower inside a shared bathroom at a Chiang Mai guesthouse yesterday.
The suspected peeping tom, 37-year-old Aurelien Rose was taken to the police station after Charlotte Emmanuele, 25, filed a police report against him.
Emmanuele said she screamed and panicked when she spotted Rose filming and watching her shower at the Royal Guesthouse.
In an emailed message, Rose refutes the accusation. He said Emmanuele falsely accused him and unscrupulous police went along with it. He said he had to pay money to both Emmanuele and police to get out of the situation.
Police went to the premises and detained Rose, who was found drinking near the guesthouse. Searching his phone, they said they found incriminating footage.
Rose was gently fined THB1,000 for causing public humiliation, Khaosod reported.
