French private airlines are asking the government to revise existing rules governing entry into Thai airspace.
The French airlines have asked the Thai government to reduce the interval necessary for putting in a request to enter Thai airspace to one day. Currently, the French are asked to send requests for entry seven days prior to their planned time of arrival.
In a Bangkok Post report, Transport Minister Chadchat Sittipunt said the one-day request format is already being used by other Asian nations. However, Director-general Woradech Harnprasertkul said that while they are considering revising the rules governing requests for entry, it will not be possible to change those rules immediately.
He said changes will have to be cleared with the Air Force.
