An unnamed French father, 39, filed child abuse charges against the British stepfather, 35, of his two children after a psychologist provided evidence that his son had been sexually abused.

Charges were filed six months ago, in March, but the man just came forward to the press since he claims that Pattaya City Police have made no progress on his case.

The children’s mother, a Chinese woman, 34, works in real estate. All the concerned parties live in Pattaya, reported Thai PBS.

The children, a boy, 5, and a girl, 8, have been moved from their mother’s home to their father’s residence on court orders, but their mother wants them back.

He said that he must do everything to protect his children after they told him earlier this year that their stepfather had them drink beer and watch pornography.

According to the French man, police have questioned the daughter, and she revealed that her stepfather had made her touch him inappropriately, and the son said said something similar.

At that time, three charges were filed against the stepfather, but sexual abuse was not among them. Instead, they allegedly charged the man with bodily assault, coercion, and public embarrassment.

Supposedly, police said they could not charge the Brit with sexual abuse of a child since there was no physical evidence of wrongdoing.

The Frenchman ordered a mental health report of his son by a French doctor, who said that the boy had been sexually abused. The father brought this new information to Pattaya City Police in June and have sent both the children for mental health checks at a local hospital as well.

One Thai expert, Montri Sintaweechai, secretary-general of the Child Protection Foundation, confirmed that most child victims of sex abuse don’t show physical signs but psychological ones revealed when a mental health professional speaks to the child.

It has been reported that the British stepfather has counter-filed charges against the French father, accusing him of giving false documents as evidence.
