A homeless woman was found murdered under the Lat Phrao intersection flyover yesterday and she became the fourth vagrant to be slain in the past week.
Police are investigating if the latest victim is linked to last week’s murders of two homeless men and one woman in Pathum Thani, in which police have caught a 20-year-old Burmese man as a suspect. He denied the charges.
The latest victim’s age was approximated at between 40 and 50. She was found lying face down with her hands tied together with twine under the flyover yesterday. It was reported she had been dead for three to four days.
The victim appeared to have been hit by a hard object in her head and had multiple stab wounds.
The victim was naked from the waist down. Police were also investigating if she had been sexually assaulted, Bangkok Post reported.
Bystanders said the woman was mentally unstable and she had been living under the bridge for several months.
Police said the circumstance of the crime scene was similar to the recent murders of three homeless victims last week, in which their wrists were tied together and they were attacked with a knife.
The Burmese suspect, identified as “Jimmy” or “Bung,” was seized on Friday morning near Mo Chit bus terminal after he was spotted near the area where the third victim was found.
Bang Sue police will work with Pathum Thani investigators who were in charge of the three previous murder case, Bangkok Biz News reported.
