Fourth child dies from weekend violence

A fourth child has died of injuries sustained during this past weekend’s violence.

Nattaya Rorsungnoen, 5, had been in a coma after being shot Saturday during in Trat province before she died yesterday.

She was shot in the back of the neck and died at a hospital in Rayong at 2:20pm after three days on a respirator.

Nattaya was the second 5-year-old girl to die from the violence in Trat, and two other children – a 6-year-old girl and her 4-year-old brother – died Sunday in a grenade attack near Ratchaprasong intersection in Bangkok.

On Monday, UNICEF issued a call to keep children away from protest areas, Bangkok Post reported.
