Four developers bid to develop former site of night market

Three years after the popular Suan Lum Night Bazaar was closed to make way for another mall, a final round of developers are being considered for the site.

Thailand’s largest commercial developer, Central Pattana is on the short list along with Saha Pathana Inter-Holding, Minor International and Univentures to build a mixed-use project on the 35-acre site, which has been parceled into six zones: office, hotel, residential, educational and cultural.

Some combination or one or more developers will be announced in the coming months, Bangkok Post reported.

The property is located at the corner of Witthayu and Rama IV roads, across from Lumpini Park and is owned by the Crown Property Bureau, whose massive real estate holdings include much of downtown’s prime real estate.
