Two Indian tourists who launched another public health scare are safe and being treated at a hospital in Bangkok.

Ankit Sejwal, 30, and Preeti Panwar, 32, were confirmed last night to be at Lerdsin Hospital in Bangkok after testing positive for COVID-19 earlier southeast of the capital at another hospital, which announced they had gone missing Tuesday afternoon.

Maj. Gen. Apichat Suribunya, tourism police spokesperson, said his team learned from local police in Bangkok that Sejwal and Panwar were found at the hospital on lower Silom Road and contacted Chonburi health officials to confirm their identification.

The pair reportedly denied that they had fled the hospital in Chonburi, but rather rushed to Bangkok for treatment after testing positive.
