Former wannabe beauty queen and current murder suspect Krisana “Mona” Suwanphithak, who confessed to murdering her 16-year-old maid five years ago, recanted her confession yesterday and pointed the finger of blame at her friend, a tomboy identified only as Pratthana, 32.
Krisana, 45, a former beauty pageant contestant that doesn’t seem to have made it too far in her pageant pursuits decades ago, is reported by those close to have a bad temper. She had confessed to beating her young maid, Jariya “Nam” Srisak, so severely with an aerosol can that the injuries ended the girl’s life the day after the 2012 attack, reported Bangkok Post.

After recanting her confession today, Krisana said that her close friend and personal assistant Pratthana committed the murder. Pratthana said that she was not responsible and that she was also a victim of Krisana’s violence over the years. Pratthana has lived in Krisana’s home since she was a teen herself.
Pratthana, who refused to talk to media but did talk to police yesterday, said that Krisana had committed the murder, telling a narrative that matched up with the stories of three other witnesses.
However, the police have interviewed eight witnesses so far and not all of their stories align.
Krisana is being held by the police on charges of of injuring a person and causing their death. She may also face charges of hiding a body and premeditated murder, depending on the evidence found in the investigation.
The body believed to be Jariya was dug up on a property in Phetchaburi province that was formerly owned by Krisana’s family. It can’t be confirmed as her remains until the autopsy results confirm it.
