Forget stereotypes and start learning at ‘Myanmar Up-Close’

Discover Myanmar at “Myanmar Up-Close,” a temporary art exhibition on Thailand’s geographical neighbor hosted by Museum Siam.

Myanmar Up-Close will tell the story of Myanmar people living in Thailand, from the political and economical reasons of why they chose to move here, their experiences of living and working in the country, and what lies ahead in their future.

The “Guest’s House” concept aims to convey the stories of the Myanmar people through decorative, functional, and spiritual art showcasing their hopes, journeys, family life, careers, beliefs, and culture.

The exhibition aims to introduce people in Thailand to the Myanmar way of life, as well promoting diversity in society and the hopes that the neighbors can understand each other and coexist peacefully.

Myanmar Up-Close takes place on March 15 to July 31 at Museum Siam. Entry is free.
