A 5-year-old orphan who was kept in a cage and forced to eat her own vomit was rescued by child welfare agency.
Her aunt, who cared for Kor-Ya, after her parents died, is being questioned but authorities said admitted to torturing the girl out of “love.”
The aunt, whose name was withheld, said she forced the girl to eat her vomit to teach her a lesson, because the sickly child, emotionally traumatized by losing her parents, often has trouble eating, Bangkok Post reported.
The dog cage where the girl was sometimes kept was left unexplained.
The Social Development and Welfare Department has yet to involve police.
