Stare into the sky this evening, and it may wink back.
Flares of light reflected from orbiting satellites are expected to shine from space over Bangkok tonight, according to the Thai Astronomical Society.
So-called “Iridium flares” are caused by the types of large, reflective antennas used by the orbiting constellation of artificial stars providing telecommunications services by Iridium Communications.
Starting at 7:06pm, the flares may be visible moving from the northwest toward the southwest before disappearing at 7:13pm.
