Flare at the Firecracker Factory: Explosion destroys Ayutthaya firework facility

An explosion, possibly caused by excessive heat, completely destroyed an Ayutthaya building used to make and store firecrackers on Sunday afternoon. No one was hurt since none of the workers were there on a Sunday.

The explosion gutted the Uthai neighborhood factory, which burned brightly until it had consumed the building. When the fire company arrived, they brought the fire under control in about an hour.

The damage is assessed at THB6 million and Ayutthaya governor Prayoon Rattanaseni has closed the area, reported Bangkok Post.

Factory owner Somkhoi Chantarin, 70, has been producing firecrackers for 22 years and said he holds the correct license. Nonetheless, he was ordered to stop producing firecrackers for 30 days while the explosion is investigated.

We guess that won’t be a problem since his firecracker factory burned to the ground.
