The first fleet of NGV-powered buses will enter service next month now that contracts are ready to be signed with the fleet’s winning bidder, according to Bangkok Mass Transit Authority.
The authority selected JVCC Co. a venture of Cho Thavee Dollasien Plc, to provide 489 buses at the cost of THB3.5 million each, the first 50 of which are expected to arrive next month.
Next week the authority will sign procurement and maintenance contracts with the company, according to acting director Pranee Sulrasorn.
Pranee said the final price was one million baht less than the estimated median price.
All 489 buses will be delivered within 90 days of signing the contract, ThaiPBS reported.
