Fire breaks out in theater at Major Cineplex Pinklao, one injured

A fire broke out inside a theater at Major Cineplex Pinklao around 11:45am today causing a large cloud of smoke outside the building. One person was injured in the accidental blaze.

The fire reportedly started in theater No. 8, on the third floor of the building. FM91 reported that the source of the fire was the light sign inside the theater, which malfunctioned and set the nearby carpet on fire.

The building was immediately evacuated. One person was injured in the incident and sent to the hospital, according to Post Today.

Ten fire trucks were deployed to put out the flames. It took 45 minutes for authorities to get the fire under control.

The ceiling of third floor reportedly collapsed during this process.

Major Cineplex released a statement at 12:30pm today to apologize for the inconvenience and to tell customers that they would be closed and to go to the theater at Central Pinklao instead.

The statement did not mention anything about the fire.
