From the fields to the clubs, discover y/our music of Thailand

Groove through a tour of the diverse world of Thai music from urban beats to country twangs with indie music documentary “Y/Our Music” showing next month at Lido theater in Siam Square.

After racking up awards since premiering in April at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas, filmmakers Waraluck Hiranswettawat Every and David Reeve bring their film back to the source for a four-night run.

The film blends journeys into the rich hinterlands of sound with the panoply of the stuff coming out of the capital. Much of it hinges on DJ Maft Sai, who helped end the stigma for country music by popularizing it as a hip thing with his Paradise Bangkok events.

Groove to the charm of Thai music and find its sounds, whether it’s where you are or where you’re from.

The documentary will screen daily at 6:30pm from July 9 to 12 at Apex Lido in Siam Square.
