A Koh Samui passenger ferry that partially sank in rough seas was damaged after striking something, investigators have concluded.
Local harbor inspectors concluded that the 2,005-ton ferry struck something underwater. The ship was carrying about 12,700 liters of fuel, but no spill of fuel or oil was reported.
Passengers and crew had already disembarked when the Raja 10 began sinking and listing on Sunday about 6 meters just off the mainland pier of Donsak in Surat Thani province.
The crew and passengers had all disembarked before the incident.
