CB Richard Ellis dominated the 2011 Thanachart Bank Thailand Property Awards, winning for Best Resort Residential Agent, Best Bangkok Residential Agent, Best Commercial Agent, Best Property Consultancy, and Best Website.
The awards were held Tuesday Dec. 6 at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel at Rajaprasong intersection in Bangkok and attended by over 600 real estate industry professionals from around the country. Property executives mingled with architects and designers at the event whilst sipping champagne and nibbling on hors d’oeuvres before sitting down for a gourmet gala dinner of poached fish and asparagus. The guest of honor was Thailand Deputy Finance Minister Mr. Viroon Techapaiboon, who spoke about the importance of the property industry in rebuilding in the wake of the floods.
This year saw the introduction of the new a new, more egalitarian category – Best Affordable Condo Development – which was won by Rhythm Ratchada Condo in Bangkok. Best Condo Development in Thailand was won by the Residences at St. Regis Bangkok, developed by Minor International which also won for Best Developer. Minor International CEO and well-known Bangkok businessman Bill Heinecke was on hand to collect the trophies.
This year’s awards were the first to be sponsored by Thanachart Bank and winners will be offered special interest rates and offers from the bank. “These awards not only guarantee the quality of projects that bring great pride to the developers, but from the client’s perspective, recognizing award-winning projects will help investors and buyers make an easier purchase decision as all the winners have been through a tough selection process by the judges,” said Khun Nathapol Luepromchai, Senior Vice President, Housing and Secured Personal Loan, Thanachart Bank Plc.
The Thailand Property Awards also teamed with Habitat for Humanity to raise THB400,000 for the construction of two new homes for flood victims in Lopburi. “There are so many needs to be met and tonight’s fundraising contribution will help families whose lives were washed away to have a decent place to call home,” said Chamnarn Wangtal, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Thailand.
“Over 1,300 nominations were received this year, and from those over 250 entries” said Terry Blackburn, CEO of Ensign Media, the organizers of the event. “This is a clear reflection of both the success of the awards and the strength of the Kingdom’s real estate industry.”
