Strike a pose: Vogue may launch in Thailand next year

The glossy and ever-so chic pages of Vogue may be coming to Thailand soon.

Matichon reported that media powerhouse Conde Nast is looking to publish a local language version of the fashion mag here and that current Elle Thailand editor-in-chief Kullawit Laosuksri may jump ship to launch it next year.

The news was translated into English by user AnemonefisH on forum The Fashion Spot, who said:

“I’m thrilled about this news, but kind of on the fence at the same time. We already have our own versions of Elle, Bazaar and L’Officiel, but they all reprint almost every cover and go nowhere far from boring. I’m worriedVogue Thailand might go the same route given that the Elle Thailand guy may take charge on this.”

Conde Nast launched Vogue into China in 2005, complete with a visit to the country from US editor and “Devil Wears Prada” inspiration Anna Wintour.

Could the same happen in Bangkok?
