A famous internet personality and DJ, along with five other nightclub-goers, were arrested on drug charges early this morning at a party ironically called, “Drink, Don’t get arrested” at Burn Club in central Pattaya.
Kannikar “DJ Katoy” Namwicha, 24, who has over a million followers on Facebook, was one of the six people tested positive on drugs as the police raided the nightclub at 4am today.
Kannikar reportedly admitted that she used ketamine three days previously to accepting the DJ job at the Pattaya nightclub, according to Pattaya Eastern News.
Police also detained Anapat Ruangurai, 50, the manager of the nightclub, for operating the entertainment venue outside of the legal hours, operating the nightclub without a license, and selling alcohol in prohibited hours.
DJ Katoy wrote on Facebook that the police have sent her urine sample for testing to a lab in Bangkok, and she’s scheduled to meet with the police on May 11 to hear the results.
“Please don’t ask me anything now,” she wrote.
“Thanks for understanding and I’m sorry for disappointing those of you who adore me.”
Little is known about what type of music DJ Katoy plays. We can’t find any clips of her music on the internet — except a dancing video on her Facebook and an interview about her tattoos on a TV show hosted by five touchy-feely guys.
