Last week, Englishman Andrew Apperley, 38, was found dead four days after going alone to Koh Phangan’s famous Full Moon Party.

Hotel staff contacted police after Apperley did not return to his hotel, ibis on Koh Samui, four days after the beach party ended. The hotel staff still had his passport and driver’s license, which he left with them at reception when he checked in.

The deceased man’s brother, Richard Apperley, is demanding answers from the Thai police and suspects that foul play was involved in the death of his beloved brother.

Richard told BBC that situation was heartbreaking and shared that their mother had just lost her husband as well.

Sadder still, he told reporters that his brother left a young daughter behind.

What is known so far is that Andrew flew into Bangkok, got a hotel room on Koh Samui and reached Koh Phangan by boat on Feb. 12. According to Richard, he sent a series of texts to friends on Feb. 13 that referred to a “scary guy with the face mask” that strongly suggest that he may have gotten into some trouble.

He wasn’t heard from after that and was reported missing on Feb. 17. His body was found on Feb. 21.

Richard said that he can’t sleep and has been relentlessly searching the internet for clues and running a social media campaign to try and find answers about his brother. The campaign has attracted worldwide attention but, so far, has not resulted in answers about the reasons behind his brother’s sad fate.

Richard said that the family will continue to pressure Thai police until they get answers and that the whole family intends to fly to Thailand this week.
