The intention was good, but the execution lacking.
When more than 1,000 people gathered in the Thanyaburi district of Pathum Thani province yesterday to call for peace, sing the national anthem and light candles in support of the upcoming election, they missed one important detail.
Maybe they were lost in the patriotic moment, but whatever the cause, they epically failed to create a peace symbol out of candles, instead fashioning an icon to consumerism, the Mercedes-Benz logo.
This of course was picked up by the fine people of the social network, who took the opportunity to tease, yet forgive, their fellows in Thanyaburi, no matter what.
The locals also released white balloons and tied white ribbons in the area to express their desire for peace to help Thailand to move on, Thairath reported.
