The Royal Thai Air Force today revealed the names of the successful candidates who will become the organization’s first female pilots.
From the small group of eight women who applied for the job, only two candidates, Sireethorn Lawansathien and Chonnisa Supawannawong, passed the fitness and writing tests.
They will receive one year of training before they can start work.
Chonnisa, 24, graduated from Civil Aviation Training Center, and Sireethorn, 23, was an instructor pilot for a private company before joining the air force.
Meanwhile, Pattani native Suwattana Chanthalert, 23, who made headlines for being the first woman to apply for the job, passed the writing test but withdrew from the application process for personal reasons.
