F1 race searches for new digs, as Rattanakosin is off the table

The Nation is reporting that Thailand’s embattled, inaugural Formula One race is searching for a new locale, after the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) passed an edict banning car racing in the city’s historic Rattanakosin district.

Several parties have floated new ideas for a race location, including Phuket and Muang Thong Thani.

Bangkok officials have not yet given up on hosting a race in the city. The clocks is ticking, however, as they have until 2015 to find a new location for a circuit.
