Explosive attack injures 5 at Chatuchak restaurant

Five customers of a restaurant in Chatuchak district were injured after a small explosive was thrown onto their table.

Two assailants on a motorbike stopped in front of the 2 Lor restaurant Monday early Monday morning and threw an incendiary device inside. The explosion injured five customers before the assailants escaped on their vehicle, according to the restaurant owner.

Five injured customers, three of whom were Bang Sue district police, were admitted to Ramathibodi Hospital. All of them were treated and allowed to go home.

The owner said he’d just opened the restaurant last month, and the incident happened after he’d closed but still had customers remaining in the restaurant.

The authorities said the assailants are likely local teenagers who wanted to threaten the new restaurant owner, Khaosod reported.
