Six street cleaners were injured today when a bomb exploded not far from the Democracy Monument.
The workers were cleaning the area at Pom Mahakan intersection, which had been the central anti-government demonstration site prior to the “Bangkok Shutdown,” at 11:25 am today when an explosive device went off at Pom Mahakan intersection.
Two workers were seriously injured while four others were slightly hurt in the blast. All were taken to Wachira Hospital.
The explosion happened inside a flower pot, according to investigators, and the cleaning crew might have accidentally moved or tapped the pot, Thairath reported.
