Exhibition examines lives of the people often building Thailand and keeping it clean

They left their country for opportunities and earn money cleaning homes, dangling from scaffolding at construction sites and all too often being drawn into worse situations.

“Myanmar Migrant Workers in Thailand” opens tonight at the Foreign Correspondent’s Club of Thailand to show the lives of migrant workers from Myanmar who escaped poverty, conflict and abuse to work in Thailand. Millions are estimated to be living illegally in Thailand, but are their lives improved?

On display is the work of freelance photographer Sittichai Jittatad, 35, whose work has been featured in the Thai National Geographic Magazine.

The exhibition opens tonight at 7pm.
