The series follows six people from all over the world as they take life-changing trips to Okinawa. Each traveler finds inspiration in Okinawa to finally reveal a long-held secret.
Our favorite video in the series features a Thai couple named Pop and Fern. They’ve got a little love triangle going on with Fern’s beloved cat Money. It involves a secret that Money’s not going to like. So Pop takes Fern on a rejuvenating (and revealing) trip to Okinawa. Money might be left back in Bangkok, but he steals the show here, if you ask us.
Follow the artsy Bangkok duo to Tousingama, an ancient pottery factory where they talk with local artisans and then to Zanpa Cape to admire Okinawa’s rugged coastal cliffs. We catch a glimpse of the lux Okinawa Daiichi Hotel and some delicious local delicacies. Finally, they visit the Nyangusk Cat Cafe to mingle with some friendly felines and for Pop’s big reveal.
In what is the most emotional and heartwarming of the series, and American father and his twenty-something year old daughter travel from Arkansas to Okinawa. We learn he’s never been outside of the USA and his daughter is giving him the trip of a lifetime so he can understand her love of travel. His response to the new experiences brought a tear to our eyes. Go ahead, get emo.
Being new parents is hard. And dealing with post-natal depression makes it even harder. Props to the series for dealing with difficult issues. After all, overcoming a serious personal issue is a perfect reason to treat yourself to an island escape. Watch how this young mom from China reveals a secret she’s been keeping from her husband as they travel to Okinawa with their little daughter.
