It only took three days — three embarrassingly long days — but Elon Musk finally has apologized to British diver Vern Unsworth, part of the rescue team that last week freed 13 young men from a flooded cave in northern Thailand, for referring to him as “pedo guy.”
Musk’s apology, which went up a few hours ago Thailand time, followed the threat of a lawsuit, and a dip in Tesla’s stock price amid the furor it created.
Despite the public condemnation of the wildly inappropriate dig, the tech giant wasn’t able to apologize without offering a parting shot at Unsworth’s comment that his offer of a “kid-sized submarine” was a PR stunt and that Musk should “stick his submarine where it hurts.”
Nonetheless, his actions against me do not justify my actions against him, and for that I apologize to Mr. Unsworth and to the companies I represent as leader. The fault is mine and mine alone.

We get it, Elon. The bad man made fun of your sub. On the plus side, he’s definitely right about who’s fault it was.
Tesla’s stock price dropped 3.5% on Monday amid dozens of articles criticizing his Twitter outburst and analysts questioning his leadership abilities.
