The price of farm-front chicken eggs will remain at THB3.50 after careful consideration from the Egg Board, the Ministry of Commerce’s egg policy committee.
The decision was made as the cost of production of eggs for farmers is at THB2.94 per egg, which is high.
The Ministry of Commerce will try to help with the high cost of living by offering blue flag programs that give the public access to cheaper eggs and increase egg sales by farmers.
Egg prices are expected to drop when the Nine Emperor Gods Festival (Chinese Vegetarian Festival) starts in October, NNT reported.
