Education Ministry campaigns against alcohol in schools

The Education Ministry, in conjunction with the Health Promotion Foundation, is launching a campaign meant to curtail alcohol consumption in Thai schools.

In its announcement of the campaign (on the National News Bureau of Thailand’s website), the Education Ministry failed to set any specific goals, though it did say that the number of new drinkers was increasing by the year, therefore demanding action.

The Ministry suspects that Thailand mints 250,000 new drinkers per year.
