Office of Basic Education Commission (Obec) secretary-general Chinnapat Bhumirat will be summoned by the grave disciplinary committee this Friday to address charges relating to his alleged negligence of duty in regards to the administration of the assistant teacher exam. Chinnapat stands accused of helping hundreds of would-be assistant teachers cheat on the examination.
According to Suchat Jeerawuth, chief of the Office of Higher Education, the probe should be complete within 60 days.
Suchat has clarified that his committee has already investigated Chinnapat for violation of Civil Service Act articles 82 and 85 regarding negligence of duty, which they claim caused severe damage to the civil service. The Nation reports that Suchat also stated that if Chinnapat is found guilty of additional wrongdoings, these will be reported to the Education Minister.
