Dusit Horror Story: Government officials struggle to exorcise ghosts from the halls of power

And it’s back! Or to be more accurate, she’s back.

The undeparted continue to haunt Thailand’s seat of power, according to a nearly retired senior government official, who recently saw an apparition of a housekeeper disappear into a set of solid doors right before his eyes.

The incident occurred as Sinsakorn Aroon was preparing to leave a conference room in the Nari Samosorn building of the Government House on Wednesday after a long day of presumably hard work.

According to Khaosod English, that’s when he saw someone sweeping the floor and inquired as to what she was doing, as it was already well past work hours.

He mustn’t have asked very nicely though because the supernatural being high-tailed it out of there, passing right through the doors without even bothering to open them.

After witnessing such an incredible sight, the senior official claimed to have heard traditional Thai music and felt a sudden drop in temperature.

“Once I regained my consciousness, I ran off …” he later told the media.

So, in the end, we are left with wondering whether this, indeed, actually happened or rather he just temporarily lost his consciousness.

Reports of stubborn spirits stalking the halls continue despite several formal efforts to placate them, including rituals and repositioning furniture.

Worth mentioning are other instances Sinsakorn recounted of ghosts making contact from beyond at the Government House, including a female ghost instructing a painter to use “dark colors” as well as another spirit showing off her “ancient perfumes” to workers on a renovation project.
