As Durian is in season, Thailand has come up with various attempts to sell the King of Fruit—from hiring sexy, shirtless guys as sellers to completely shaving the fruit’s thorns to convenience customers.

Starting this week, Aom Aom Chinese Restaurant in Udon Thani is combining durian with an unlikely component—steamed buns, and the demand is overwhelming.

The durian buns, which are molded and colored to look like the actual fruit, is made from durians of the Mon Thong species. The restaurant owner, Chernpond Chansanam, said she receives orders of at least 200 buns per day.

Chernpond is trying hard to meet customer demand, but the restaurant can only make about 100 of the sweet treats per day.

Chernpond said that her restaurant’s speciality is Sichuan cuisine, which serves savory and sweet colorful buns in the menu. When the durian season approaches, durian buns became the special on the menu, reported Dailynews.

The restaurant is open from 11am-9pm everyday and customers must make reservations. The durian bun sell for THB30, or you can pay THB50 for two.
