A Thai-American guy was arrested in downtown Prachuap Khiri Khan this morning when police found him drunk and licking the window of a 7-Eleven store.
Karl Nan Hammer, 39, had a small, derringer-style gun with him. When police asked him where he got it, he told police he brought it from America, carrying it through Suvarnabhumi Airport by hanging it off of his necklaces like a pendant.
Hammer told police that he was in Prachuap Khiri Khan to see his mom, a Thai woman. He also revealed that his deceased American father had been a Vietnam War soldier.

Hammer landed in Bangkok in February and walked through the airport with the gun around his neck. He said he was never going to shoot anyone or anything — he carried the gun without bullets as a reminder of his father, reported Bangkok Post.
The pistol would not have been what his dad used in the war, as derringers are small weapons meant to be concealed and not designed for military use.
Police charged Hammer with illegally carrying a firearm.
