A Chonburi paramedic randomly splurged to make a private (but eerie) outdoor cinema at a local Chinese cemetery on Sunday night because “just like people, ghosts want to watch movies too.”

The paramedic, Prawet Limchareon, 37, said that his “movie night” was held for the ghosts at Sawang Utthayan Sathantham cemetery.

“Whenever I drive past this place, there’s always a strange feeling that takes over,” says Prawet.

He said he usually just asks the spirits to protect him when he drives by.

Starting at 9pm, the cemetery, home to over 800 corpses, was transformed into an outdoor cinema. To pay homage to the ghosts in the Chinese cemetery, it totally made sense that they started the night with a Chinese opera.

Four other paramedics attended the bizarre movie night, as well as three construction workers in the area, Sanook reported.

After the Chinese opera was over, they proceeded to watch two other movies, which Prawet had rented.

His friend, Supot Panpadung, 39, said that he had advised Prawet to “go for it,” as they both agreed that it was a “good deed.” They were to spend THB6,000 on the three movie rentals and the equipment, but even the store owner admired this act of kindness and only charged them THB4,000.

We can’t imagine how the ghosts would react if they ever got their hands on Netflix.
